Rocky Horror in Duluth

I attended The Rocky Horror Picture Show this weekend in Duluth at the Playhouse. This was my first experience with seeing the iconic show live. I would definitely recommend it. The show wasn't elaborate however they make it interactive, including goodie bags for the audience and puns galore.

Speaking of Duluth...sigh, I can't wait for a day when I finally live there again. It is home. And I'm sounding like a broken record again.

Boy the week went by fast

Now that I am done with school, the weeks are flying by so quickly. I think this is a sign that I enjoy my job, but I also know this is a sign that work is busy. Both good things.

But now that three weeks have gone by quickly I am realizing that Halloween is coming up very very soon. And although my plans are still up in the air, I'm thinking I should consider a costume.

So with the weekend here and no plans Friday or Saturday, the task is upon me to think of a superior costume. This type of creativity is not something that comes easy to me. I will attempt none the less.

"That's a nice cane"

The other day I saw an older man stealing a money bag from a commercial vehicle outside work.

I contemplated stopping him. He looked like he needed the money. He was wearing a dirty white shirt and his pants were ripped.

I said to him, "that's a nice cane." He replied with a hesitant mumble. I then said "what are you doing?"

He dropped the money and hobbled off.

It was a nice cane.

And sometimes people surprise you and thats a wonderful thing

I was thinking about my college friends today.
I was thinking about all the places they are right now.
I was thinking how proud I am of them all.
One in China, one in Africa, one on the east coast, one on the west coast, and so many more in between. One is making movies, one is changing the world through medicine, and many are changing people lives for the better each day.

I was also thinking about how big of a sap I have become lately. It might be nice to record my sappy thoughts. Or at least the randomness that is my life here in northern Minnesota now.

I am chronic commitment-phobe even when it comes to blogging. I hope to break that starting now. One blog per week. That seems feasible (she says as she commits impulsively to her audience of >5).

'pause'

What will you do when 'no homo' fails to protect your sexuality?

"I kissed a girl and I liked it" - oh....no hetero

AM I AN IDIOT...the answer is YES

Should YOU go to Grad School?

(A wee little test)

Answer true or false to the following questions.

I am a compulsive neurotic.

I like my imagination crushed into dust.

I enjoy being a professor’s slave.

My idea of a good time is using jargon and citing authorities.

I feel a deep need to continue the process of avoiding life.

If you received 4 or more true responses than you are a perfect candidate for graduate school. Better start applying.

th sun may be out but i'm not

I know that my all readers must be worried that I have not posted in more than two months (all two of you). But don't worry I am alive. I'm just in the process of adjusting to graduate school.
Here are the three things I've learned about being a graduate student:
1. When calculating the amount of time you will need to do homework, ALWAYS multiply that number by 8 and add 45 minutes of last minute cramming time before the project/test is due.
2. Even though all the students are in the program and the competition should over, don't trust anyone. I guess when our instructors tell us to "work together" that translates to "fight to the death" for grad students.
3. Making time for a beer and friends is essential to ones sanity!
